Using 1066 MHz ram in last years iMacs

Hello, I'm new to the forums.

I am looking at buying a second hand iMac which is iMac8.1 (early 2008 imac generation) and the default ram is 800MHz. The computer's buss speed is 1066MHz. Can I install the newer 1066MHz ram in this previous generation mac and be able to take advantage of the faster speed?
