Do you have the text color set to white, the same as the background?

I have '08, but guessing this is pretty much the same - look at the two boxes to the right of the Font type, style and size. Should have one box to set text color and another to set background color.

While i realise it is not much help if i do the same in mine the blank window loads with flashing insertion cursor ready for typing. Will see if i can find more info. Try clicking in page area to see if insertion cursor appears. Even in Word processor you can select a text box and type in that.

In the pic u posted it shows u are in Finder so nothing will show there but selecting empty page and clicking in it will add insertion cursor. If that is no go then it is into troubleshooting to sort issue.

Yep, you'll not be able to type there until it is the active window and will have Pages in the location that now has Finder on the menu bar.

Have you re-booted the machine?
