That's awesome. And with Snow Leopard all intel macintosh notebooks will have multitouch software in their trackpads. :)

Very cool, I'm glad that the netbook I ordered is going to have those features, life is awesome when all you have to use is 3 fingers.

hey thanks for the tip. I accidentally did it today and was like "*** did I just do?" Then figured it out. Have you tried the 4 finger swipe? It lets you toggle which program you want to have up. For example I will have safari up, then 4 swipe and then pull up itunes to switch a song. Pretty neat. Good looks on the 3 finger swipe cuz now I don't have to hit back anymore when viewing different threads haha

I didn't buy a mouse with my MBP, thought I give the trackpad a chance. Now, I don't see why I'd need a mouse.

I heard about this a while ago, and was excited that it was part of 10.6.

Has anybody seen any postings by anyone confirming this. I haven't installed 10.6 yet on my older MBP to experience it yet?

Thanks,

- Nick

I don't think it's referring to all Macbooks because I personally haven't seen the option on my late 2006 Macbook. I believe it's referring to the late 2007 or early 2008 Macbook Pro and Macbook Air that had the hardware but the software wasn't there.

Kash,

Have you installed 10.6 on your MacBook yet?

My MacBook Pro is the same vintage as your MacBook (late 2006)...and I was sort of looking forward to this potential feature (3 & 4 fingered gesturing) in 10.6 that it was rumored to have.

Thanks,

- Nick

Yea, upgraded it several hours ago and I have yet to find a way to enable the feature on my Macbook. I did a bit of research and that's how I found out the info regarding the latent technology in those models.

Too bad! I was looking forward to installing 10.6 on my Late 2006 MBP, going to the "Trackpad" preferences...and finding the additional 3 & 4 finger gesturing options.

Thanks,

- Nick
