does anyone have any idea how the SL 10.6 upgrade will affect iTunes and the iPhone?

I heard they you will have to buy a new iPhone to upgrade to 10.6

Considering that Apple makes OS X, iTunes and the iPhone, I'm going to guess that you won't have a problem.

I expect there to be no noticeable change between how Leopard, iTunes and iPhone behave. Snow Leopard is more of a tweak of Leopard than anything, so nothing that would break anything as readily used as iTunes..
