A friend recently bought an awesome game which I want to play on my Mac (but it is unfortunately only for PC) I have thought about installing Vista on my Mac for a little while but am not sure which would be better, Bootcamp or Parallels. It would only be used for gaming.

Also. The copy of Vista that I have is an OEM, in the bootcamp manual it says that it is not recommended, is it a big deal, or can I use it without any problems???

3D is flaky at best through virtualization so for 3D applications, Boot Camp is your only choice.

Bootcamp all the way. The only game I play on my vm - which is really rare - is Diablo. Other then that, I either:

1) Get the Mac version if available
2) If compatible with crossover games, I play on that so I don't have to reboot
3) Boot into bootcamp to get the best gaming experience for games not Mac compatible.

Some games I play that are compatible w/ crossover include titles like Guildwars, Half Life 2, etc.

Games I have to bootcamp for include Call of Duty World at War, Wolfenstein, etc.

Boot camp will be running it natively on your system, while VMWare, Parallels or any other virtualisation software will be running it virtually. Native is always the best way to go :)
