Where's the iPhone gamepad?

When I heard Apple was opening up the phone to allow third party companies to make hardware that could connect with it, I thought some kind of snap/slide on game controller would be soon follow.

I like using the touch screen for some games designed for it, but for some classic console games and first person shooters, the touch screen controls just don't cut it. Anyone heard about anything developed or in the pipeline?

Agreed. I remember stumbling upon the website of some company that was working on one, but haven't seen anything more about it since.
