Need a Xserve?

I have 6 G5's and want to hook them all up to share and store files.
This would not be connected to a company network server.
We just need one for our 6 G5's to access, store and retrieve files.

Would the Xserve be the right way to go?

14" MacBook Pro M1 Pro, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD
Way overkill. I would be more apt to point you to a NAS (network-attached storage), or even dedicate a desktop Mac to act as a file server.
