Hard disk

hi there can you please help me with a small problem I have an old ipod (the old U2 one) think it 3ard generation,and want to use it as a hard disk. The problem is that i want to take files of my mac and put them on a pc using the ipod, but when i plug the ipod into the pc it comes up with message that the ipod is formatted to a mac, so the pc can't access the files!
Any help would be great

Reformat the iPod on the PC using the PCs iTunes. You do this by doing a "restore" when clicking on the iPod in iTunes. The Mac will recognize the PC formated hard drive just fine.
