Need Suggestions for External HD

Hello,

I have a macbook and want to get an external HD 250-500 GB.

Portable is preferred but i could go with a desktop to save money.

I'm looking for cheap but trustworthy.
I would appreciate any suggestions.

Also, I will use this for my macbook and my moms powerbook G4. Are there any issues with backing up 2 computers on one HD?

Not a lot in it these days, all are as reliable as each other generally speaking.
I'd go Lacie, or Iomega, but Toshiba have just released some lovely looking portables.

And there should be no issues with what you want to do. You can always partition it.
