So I am currently in the process of cleaning up my macbook pro. I looked the system profiler for all the applications i have and don't use, but i found strange things.
Under the tab saying "Kind", I have several applications that say they are for PPC Systems. This wouldn't bother me accept I know that my machine is intel..

I don't remember ever using or downloading these apps and I want to find out if they can be deleted without messing up the Machine.

Any suggestions?

What software is listed as PPC? It's very possible that certain programs have PPC parts. For instance, part of the Microsoft Messaging Bundle with Office 2008 is PPC but Office 2008 as a whole is Universal.

Are you using Office 2004 by chance? Office 2004 is PPC only so this would explain the high concentration of what appears to be parts of MS Office.

There is no need to get rid of Office if it works for you. You can't "upgrade" it to a universal or Intel build so if you want to keep 2004, you will have to bear with the emulation of Office 2004 on your Intel Mac.

Apart from Limewire, all of those look like components of MS Office

Unless you absolutely don't want PPC software or are bothered by any slow down because of emulation, there is really no need to get rid of PPC software. I'm not giving up Starcraft anytime soon because it's PPC only.
