Hi Would like to hear from other Mac users who use either Gimp or Pixelator.

On instalation are files scattered all over the hard disc in different places as in Windows? Also reports on how good?

Thanking you. Charles

I used GIMP for a little bit but found it aukward and slow. Not knocking it, it is a wonderful effort expecially considering the price and the unselfish dedication of the writers.
I found a discounted copy of Photoshop for mac and there is no comparison.

I usually recommend Pixelmator to those that are looking for a good application but don't want to shell out tons of money for photoshop. Gimp is good, but it can be frustrating to new comers because some of the menu's make no sense. When recommending gimp, I usually tell people to go with gimpshop instead of regular gimp.

Pixelmator

I think the gimp team is working on a new version of Gimp right now though. So it might end up being better than it already is. Since it's free, it's worth a download.
