I'm new to mac, so what is the procedure to upgrading my Mac? I will make a backup of what I have now when the time comes, I just wanted to know if I make that time machine backup before upgrading can I then go to Snow Leopard and get all my files back?

Or is there a simple way to upgrading?

Need to know as it will be upon us in Sept.

As a little advice always backup your data before installing new things, so yes after you pickup your copy of SL, make a backup of your data. Unplug the drive pop in the disk follow all the instructions and such after its done plug in your drive again, if any data was lost copy the backup data over again.
