Burning iDVD on Leopard

MacbookPro v10.5.7
OS: Leopard
iDVD: 7.0.4

I am having a major emergency. I am trying to burn a dvd onto a DVD RW with no luck. iDVD goes through the whole process of burning but ejects the disc too early at about 2 minutes out. (when it does eject the disc it does flash "done")

Then it just keeps circling "busy" forever until you cancel it. After which the apparently burned disc reads as blank.

I have seen this problem posted a few times to but no answer has been posted to solve the problem. So I re posted in desperation.

Also, I tried to save my file as an image, which also did not work.

Please, any help would be so appreciated.

The usual recommendation is...

Create a disc image first and test that. If that works, use Disc Utility copy that to a real DVD. This splits out the process for easier debugging.

Remember, iDVD encodes the video to MPEG2 and that can take a very long time depending on how long your video is.
