Can't see my Shared Folder

I'm trying to have my Mac Book Pro (10.5 Leopard) connect to my Samba server on my Linux machine. What I don't get is, my windows XP system can connect to the samba and can see it no problem in its networks, however, my mac won't. How do I fix this? I also know the IP of the system, and when I try to connect to server via smb://192.168.0.190, it doesn't work. Any ideas?
