Neophyte question here: do streamed movies like from netflix harm the Macbook in any way? Do the images "stay" on the hard drive? Is it "too much" for the 'puter to handle? Is there risk of viruses? What about with a PC?

Trying to talk the wife down from the ledge over here...

Harmful? Depends on what kind of movies you're watching....

All kidding aside, watching netflix movies is not going to harm your machine or do images stay on the hard drive. There are no Mac viruses in the wild, no concern there either.

Regards.

They, in no way or form harm you computer. I've been streaming Netflix on my Mini since January with no problems.

LOL

I've been streaming Netflix and other video for over 2 years from my MBP to the big screen.

As of 2 weeks ago, I now have a dedicated machine just for this so I don't have to give up my notebook to attach it to the TV. And if all goes well during the next couple of weeks, looks like I should be able to cancel about $70 worth of my monthly satellite bill.
