Security update problems

I just updated my Dual 800 G4 quicksilver with the latest security update for 10.3.8 and now it will only start to the console screen

Black screen that says:

Darwin/BSD (Dual-G4.local) (Console)
Login:

anyone know what I need to do to start up properly, I don't know any commands. I can login but I don't know what to do next with this console crap....
