iTunes 7 not compatible with old iPods?

13" MBP - 2.7 Ghz, Intel Core i7, 8GB RAM.
Are 3G iPods not compatible with iTunes 7.71+? My iPod keeps freezing after synching just a couple songs, especially podcasts.

I've got a 3rd gen that works fine with iTunes 8. Possibly the drive in yours is dying?

Like the other poster said, it's something with your iPod. I have a 3g and it works fine with the latest iTunes. Mine did that when the original 10GB drive was dying. I put in a new 20GB and it's fine again.

I have an old 2G that's still fine, so it's def an iPod problem sadly.
