Grey Screen on Shutdown

MBP 2.4, 4GB RAM, 320GB HD @7200// iBook G3 300MHZ!, 512MB RAM!, 40GB HD!
MBP 4,1 : 10.5.8

It use to only happen once or twice a month, but for the last two weeks I've been getting grey screens on every shutdown. Should I just reformat?
