Final Cut Studio on MBP

Your Mac's Specs
MacBook Pro 15" (2009) -2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo -iPhone 3G
I have Final Cut Studio for my new Macbook Pro, and I have a 9400 and a 9600 video card in this 15". I'm curious, does this software even take advantage of the better 9600? I've heard that motion is the only thing that renders using the GPU, but I couldn't find anything recent that said something different. So any help would be great!

If anyone could clear up what uses the CPU vs the GPU I'd be happy :D
