I'm trying to burn an ISO image of SUSE Linux to DVD, but it seems to be burning a data DVD rather than a bootable disc. How do I burn an iso image to disc?

You can't burn bootable discs.

I keep reading that, but I've burned several linux and 1 bsd disk that I was able to boot.

All I've ever done is open Disk Utility, select "Image" from the drop down menus and then select "Burn"

It asks for the source image and the destination then takes off... I've yet to have one that didn't boot.

Like fade said, you can use Disk Utility to do this. What are you using to burn your openSUSE DVD? Try the instructions here.
