Importing Safari Bookmarks from Mac to Mac

Okay. I am importing my bookmarks via a usb stick from my imac to my macbook. They are importing ok but when safari is launched and i go to 'bookmarks' on the top of the screen, then to 'bookmarks bar' they are not there. Any ideas what i am doing wrong please?

Try Xmarks for Safari. Works great to keep two machines in sync. It also works with Firefox (it used to be called Foxmarks). If you don't want to give that a shot you may have to go into the Bookmarks and move them from imported to the Bookmarks Bar.
