Hi,

I use a Maxtor 1tb NAS drive for storage, and am having endless troubles with trying to use it on my mac. The NAS started to become very unstable when connected to my mac and kept needing to be restarted. Now, it has duplicated it's name 4 times, just adding a -1,-2,-3 etc. to it's name. I don't think there is anything wrong with the NAS. Is there a way of resetting the "server connection" data or something like that? Has anyone else had these problems? Is there another solution other than re-installing my mac?
Thanks,

Nigel

P.S. FYI the NAS works seamlessly without any issues in Windows....

Disconnect the NAS using the eject icon in the Finder. Then use the Go > Go to Folder option in Finder. Type in /Volumes and hit enter. Delete all references to the NAS there. Reboot Mac and reconnect to the NAS.
