How long does it take for an HDD with about 20gb to be cloned to a new HDD using a USB 2.0 connection?

A random guess off the top of my head....20-30 minutes? Why don't you just try it and time it?

IIRC, SuperDuper takes about 1.5hrs to back up my 320GB HD (of which ~122GB is being used) to an external HD connected through USB 2.0. Don't use this as a metric though unless you are using the exact same equipment I am. ;)

It operates much faster if you subscribe to the registered version and also can then use Smart Backup which reads both internal and external, and backs up any new files, programs etc you have installed since the last back up.

For 20GB on say a weekly Smart Backup say 10-12 minutes. And if your external drive is Firewire capable, that is faster.
