How to get loops to cycle?

So, I'm watching a tutorial "Building a Song" & following the steps with the video. The guy adds a drum loop & selects Turn cycle region on/off in GarageBand to make the drums cycle or loop. I can't get this to work. Is there a preference setting I'm missing?
