Overheat?

Hello I was using my macbook and it might have overheated, but I'm not sure.
I was using it and it turned off all of the sudden I was using multiple programs and was at 18% battery power.
There was no message that mentioned over heating, so I'm curious as to why it shut off.

Probably shut down because the battery gave out! ;D
