Hi,
I have a few issues with my Mac. Sometimes it starts but doesn't boot to OSX, it just gets stuck with the round rotating circle thing as a cursor. I hold the power button and start again and it works fine.
I reinstalled OSX today hoping to fix it.
I had 3 issues previously.
1) Randomly doesn't start up - format + reinstall hasn't fixed.
2) Could not fix permissions. - Previously repairing permissions would always fail. Now it works.
3) Applications randomly would fail to start. For example. Mail.app just wouldn't start, it would bounce twice and exit. I would have to restart to fix this. It is too early to say if this has been fixed by the reinstall.
Does anyone know what causes such issues on a Mac? I am hoping that 2 and 3 are related and now fixed. As for 1.. I don't know. Should I be worried?
iMac is 2 and a half years old.
