So I have several series of my favorite shows on my MBP, and I usually watch them on VLC Media Player. It's all well and good, but I was wondering if there is a specific application, or even a feasible way to transfer my VLC video files onto a blank DVD and then watch them like normal shows on my TV? I just think it would make me appreciate my entertainment more. Any ideas or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Check out Handbrake to change the format first.

I was just about to ask this question but thought I'd do a Search first. :) (smug or what!). All seemed to go well with first conversion flv> avi using all the Handbrake defaults, but every one since then has had garbled sound - they all sound link some demented person with a high pitched voice talking very fast. Anyone know how to fix?

Yeah, I've seen people link a bunch of stuff to other things, but I've yet to find something that will do what I want -- MKV to AVI. Apparently all DVD files are AVI so I'm assuming that's what I need. Any reassurance that HandBrake is what I need? I'm a little hesitant to get it on account of doing some research and seeing that the quality might be degraded, and I remember downloading it before and having it do its job VERY slowly. :| So...bleh, for now. Any progress on HB for you?
