I've come to Mac Forums with many questions on preparing my daughter's Macbook for college. Lost a couple days waiting for the email notification, so I just learned 1 lesson...visit Mac Forums often.

Seems as though the email notification does not work with the addie provided here. Any suggestions?

Seems to work fine for me, instantaneous notification through Gmail. Although it isn't turned on by default. You have to enable email notification for subscribed threads (settings are contained in Profile => Edit Options).

Default Thread Subscription Mode is set to instant email notification.

Maybe I'll switch to a different email address to check.

I've tried a second email address and the notification hasn't worked so far.

Any suggestions?

No. But sometimes that will happen. I've noticed it sometimes too. Not sure what's up there!

Don't know what you did iPod Nano but your post was sent to the new email address.

Hope it continues...maybe it was caused by going to a Mac forum with a PC ;D

Did you set it to subscribe to threads that you reply to or create?

Yes I did...for both email addresses used.

The 1st email address had worked, then just stopped for some unknown reason.

Just for laughs, I'll switch it back in a few weeks :D
