Apple sold out of iPhones?

Just found out why I still can't get an iPhone 3GS in my country. I have been trying to get one off my current telco and they say there is no stock at all.

Funnily enough, Apple has denied that there is an iPhone drought... I don't know who to believe.

in ireland too is impossible to get an iPhone!! It's 2 weeks i'm waiting!!

Here in Canada there have been reports of the iPhone being sold out just a few weeks ago. So I went to my current carrier and they said that is actually wrong and had exactly the one I wanted in stock. So I bought it that day.

Yea it takes a while before supply can catch up with demand. Never had a problem here in the States with the iPhone. I remember the Wii was pretty bad but I think that was intentional anyway.

There is no problem in Ireland, its an O2 marketing ploy. With them losing their exclusivitity contract with Apple in February, they are only telling people they have limited numbers so they put their name sell really fast when the bring out the new batch in store every thursday. This then nails the people to an 18 month contract. However if people we not so eager and waited a few months, they get a better deal with Vodafone and Meteor and 3.

I just got my 3GS last week and I had to wait a couple of days... I actually had a friend who worked @ AT&T and he called me when they got some in but he said that it was first come first serve and the sales people were already calling back more people than the amount of iphones that came in... But push came to shove and now my life is a little more complete

I couldn't find one within 50 miles of me at any ATT store. I went to the Apple store and they had plenty.
