What's up with Gmail?

Every time I try to go to Gmail, Safari gives me this:

Safari can’t open the page.

Too many redirects occurred trying to open “http://gmail.com/”. This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which then is redirected to open the original page.

Why don't you try Firefox? That works fine for me.

It works okay for me in Safari when I type gmail.com. I've seen that error before on other websites.

Try mail.google.com and see if it gives you that error too.

Just did, and it worked :)
But it's still kinda strange that Safari doesn't work for it.

Yeah, it is. But it makes more sense to do what works rather than worry about what doesn't:)
