I recently got one of the 15 inch unibody's, mine has the 2.53 GHz processor, the 9400 chip, and 256 mb of Vram. On WoW currently I've been running (with all settings maxed) at a steady 20-35 fps, then 40-60 inside buildings, underground, etc.

My question is! I'm pretty happy with these framerates, but could I've gotten noticeably better ones if I invested in the 9600 GT also? If I did, would I be able to buy the chip and install it myself? Or is there any other hardware I should look into upgrading in order to reach my goal of higher fps?

Thank You :)

You would have gotten better frame rates with the 9600.

You are unable to install the 9600 to your MBP.

If you're happy with the framerates, why change anything? :)

I have the 13" MBP, get around 45-50 everywhere (except Dalaran), but i've lowered the settings on almost everything except player textures. Still looks okay, but i prefer having the fluidity over the awesome looks
