How do I change my name on the side bar in the Finder?

i.e.

Desktop
Name
Applications
Documents

Your account name? Go to System Preferences, then Accounts.

Back up your stuff first, sometimes this breaks the account entirely.

Well, I don't know if it's my account name or not. I think it is called my 'short name', though. I forgot to edit it when I reinstalled my OS.

Why does it matter? You don't need to type it in to log in or anything.
Just make a new account and transfer the contents of your home dir.

I can't even figure out how to change my short name! You can of course create a new account with the name you want and transfer everything over there.
