My friend just got this iBook from someone at college, and realized that it doesn't have wireless or anything, so she gave it to me. It's in perfect condition, still holds a charge, and is just so darn cool. It's an original 300 MHz model, with 64 MB of RAM. I already put in a wireless card I had laying about. I have some old PC66 SO-DIMMs somewhere around here from an old iMac G3, so I should be able to add 256 MB at least, when I find them. I also have a 60 GB IDE HDD. The question is.. what the heck do I do with it?

WOW! Way cool! I love messing with old machines. Very nice you had a spare Airport card laying around! :D

What OS is on it?

I still have to get out my old Amiga 3000 someday and mess with it and bring back the good memories of the old days!

HAHA to cwa, yeah I know it's ancient, but I already busted out my old Myst and Riven disks to do some classic gaming.

dtravis it came with OS 9.2.2 and I just installed my ancient copy of Jaguar on it, which has been gathering dust in the graveyard of old computer stuff (AKA the closet) for years. I have to say the internet performance leaves a bit to be desired, which was expected, but at least for old games this should be fun. Does anyone know anywhere to download old abandonware titles for Mac? I know about abandonia.com but they lean more towards old Windows or DOS games.

As heavy as I was into adventure games back then, don't know how I missed the whole Monkey Island series.

Haha, funny. I just recently downgraded my 300 MHz Blueberry iBook to OS 9 from 10.3. Good browser on 10.3 is Opera 8 (or 7, I can't remember which.) and if you've still got OS 9 kickin' around, there's a new browser out for it called Classilla you should check out.

you should try the game : Zoombinies ... kick *** lol
Though I think it works only on OS 9 but you should try it they still sell it out there, it's a classic :p !!
You should also look for old PacMan on arcade-like games... if you fill your new super cool laptop with those types of games it should become a new super mega cool gaming platform laptop!!!
Have fun

If it works perfectly, you could keep it in a safe place for 20 or so years. By then it will probably a be a collectable item.

It's not worth much right now.. maybe if I was lucky on eBay I could get $150 for it, but like god0fgod said, it might be a collectors item someday.

Reminds me of my alphasmart, which is a basic word processor that connects to computer with usb cable and transfers text to computer. It has buttkicking battery power (had it for years, only switched the batteries once!). The difference? I paid 200 bucks for my alphasmart!

You can add wireless to it for around $30.... original airport card prices have tanked!
