Will Not Boot Up

I have a MacBook Pro 2.0 GHz, 80 GB Hard Drive, 2GB of ram, that I bought in May of '06. Never had any major problems with it, although now it seems it will not turn on. When I try to turn it on you can hear the fans spinning, but the apple doesn't come up and load. Sometimes you'll hear the start up tone and it starts to load then the screen goes black again.

Any thoughts?

Have you tried to boot the machine with your install media? If you can get it to boot with your original install media, run the Apple Hardware Test.

If you have another Mac available (yours or a friend's) try to boot your machine in Target Disk Mode from the good one.

Regards.

I have the same problem, but after I but in Disk Genius, it still refuses to spin and now the CD is stuck and no way to get it out since the startup doesn't get that far. disk just spins up a bit and spins down with sleep light blinking. Any ideas?
