Hey guys, wondering if you can help me. Whenever I press shift + 3 I get # instead of £ which I have to press option + 3 to get the £

Is there any way of swapping this back round so I can use shift + 3 for it's main purpose?

Check your keyboard settings. I'm guessing you have it set to US English instead of UK English. You'll find it in System Prefs.

I have it set to UK english, but it still won't change. Is there any other way around this? For instance key changing?

Try US English instead. Seriously, sometimes they seem to get swapped depending on the software version.
