open a terminal with top on startup

Hi, I want my terminal to open a window with top running an then open a new window for me to work in. I put the following in my .bash_profile:


but that just continues to open terminals and run
on them.

Any ideas how to do this. It's not the biggest pain type top and then cmd-n but I would just like to know how to do it.
