My Mac won't sleep.

Let me start off by saying I have searched this forum and google for solutions for macs not sleeping. I have done all those things. I am now convinced this is a software issue. I previously had a late 06 15" MBP that did not sleep. Recently I picked up a new 15" MBP. I used the Migrate Assistant to transfer everything then did a fresh install on the old MBP. Now the old one sleeps and the new one doesn't. So now I figure it is something I did. I have deleted a bunch of stuff that I don't use anymore like X11 since I don't use gimp anymore. Some iTunes add on for lyrics. I'm not sure what else to do. I have used the Activity Monitor to quit things and see if that worked but I only tried a couple because I didn't want to cause any damage.

I just found something else while looking at the images below. I deleted the Logitech Control Center and it is still showing in the list. How do I get rid of that as well?

Any Ideas???

Try some general trouble shooting:

1. Reset the SMC first. See here.

2. Open System Preferences, Accounts, Login Items. Remove everything from the list - temporarily. You can add programs back one by one if removing all cures the no sleep.

As for the Logitech Control Center... You probably did not remove everything. It may even have an uninstaller application that must be used to remove it. I'm not familiar with it, but you might try reinstalling it to see if the installer has an option to uninstall. Otherwise you're going to have to use Spotlight to find every instance of it to delete.

Last resort would be to do a clean install of OS X on your new MBP and then reinstall all your apps and settings. Lots of work.

Regards.

Some things I forgot to mention...

It does sleep if the lid is closed. It does sleep if initiate sleep through the menu. I have parallels installed which runs window xp.

I
1. Rest the SMC
2. Removed all items from Login Items
and still no sleep.

3. The logitech Control Center puts the uninstaller in the library/app support file. After running the uninstall there was still Logitech Registration in the startup items which was removed in #2.

Yeah, I'm hoping to avoid the clean install. There are programs I would not be able to reinstall. Like iMovie HD which is used for time lapse. Parallels, won't let me download my copy anymore.
