Is Snow Leopard going to support sound through MDP?

Your Mac's Specs
MBP 17" 2.66 core 2 duo & 4gigs ram, iPhone 3G S 16 gig, Dell Mini9 running OSX.5.7 1.6 atom
I was wondering if anyone knew if OS X 10.6 was going to support sound through the mini displayport, or is it a hardware issue that will never be resolved for existing MBP users.
