I have a black Macbook that's a month past it's 3 year AppleCare warranty. I was removing my battery the other day to replace it and the coin slot just snapped clean off. The thing is just a cheap plastic circle, so I'd hate to pay any considerable amount of money to replace it. Can you get a replacement part for it and how do I go about repairing it?

Thanks in advance!

I don't know if you can just replace the broken coin slot. Probably not. Anyway, do a search on eBay or go to one of the several on line service centers for Mac or DIY and see if you can locate a replacement.

Try here

And here

As a last resort, try your local Apple store.

Regards.

Yeah, that's what I figured also. Give eBay a try - you may be able to pick up an entire bottom case for much less than what Apple will charge.

Regards.
