If you have a copy of Tiger 10.4 please pop it into your MBP, reboot it, hold down C, and see if you can boot from the disk.

Failing that hold down the option key when it starts to see if you can see the cd image.

Thanks!

You cannot downgrade a Mac.
Tiger will NOT work on a Leopard Mac never mind a Leopard MBP.

I just wanted to now if you could boot from the disk.

I found out today - you cannot boot from the Tiger disk on a MBP, but it works perfectly fine on a G4.

Cheers!

So what do you do if you have a full tiger install DVD that came with the MBP and bought the upgrade disks to Leopard and need to install from scratch?

If it's a retail edition of Tiger, then no - as all retail versions of Tiger were PPC only. The x86 version of Tiger was only ever included with Intel machines, and those discs should at least boot the machine (although they are tailored, driver-wise, to the machine they were sold with).
