• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Is there a reason why I can not import through my camera now that I have iMovie HD. It works when I use a tape but will not allow me to import tapeless?

Using a Canon I would run my DVD into the AV in (mini miniPlug). Then in play mode the DVD would pass through the camera to iMovie. For some reason it is not working now that I'm using iMovie HD?

Also what are the settings on the camera. Is the camera in VCR mode or what?

ya, it is in play or VCR mode, then you would need to go into the menu and select AV/ on to allow it to play in. But for some reason since I added iLife05 & Imovie HD it will not allow me to import through the camera??? I'm going to have to record it on DV then import it..ads an extera step
