Boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen, it happened! I said a prayer last night to the Lord asking Him to let my nephew come today to cut our grass and to order my MacBook Pro - when I woke up Mom and I thought he wasn't coming, but Lo and Behold, he DID come after all! And the first thing he did upon coming to our house was go online to http://www.apple.com's online store and he ordered the mac. And it's the one with the 512 MB video card and the 3.06 GHz processor and 500 GB hard drive @ 7200 rpm upgrades!

The shipping is from 1 - 3 days, but it won't come until anywhere from July 9 - July 15 - right in time for me to treat myself to All-You-Can-Eat Baby Back Ribs at the Lone Star Steakhouse that's up the hill from the local mall on July 15th.

you have 2 options:

1) eat at Taco Bell

2) go to google.com > images > type "taco" in the search bar, and download yourself some. Then you could say I "sent" you some tacos, heh-heh (joke) When are getting your macbook pro? When you get it could you post some pictures of it, please?

Here's a nice surprise I got with this MacBook Pro - Even though I allocated 401 GB of hard drive space for Windows XP and there are those who say (iirc) that the windows partition has to be 32 GB or smaller in order for it to be seen when in OS X - I can see my jpg photos and even open these photos in my windows XP partition (bootcamp) while I'm running OS X.

Where did you hear this? I have never had this problem, and I have a 500 GB Windows partition on my iMac.

I heard this from a mac user on adventure gaming forum, and from someone at AppleInsider - anyway, I really happy I can see my windows xp (drive c ) partition when I'm running Leopard. But how do I look at my windows xp desktop, and My Documents in the boot camp partition while running Leopard - could you walk me through this?

Thanx.

How can I edit my specs post to delete the serial # if the "edit" option is no longer there?

let's say this is one of the ways in which the Good Lord takes care of me, Nick!

btw, since i can see and access my windows xp partition while in leopard, does this mean every time i go on the internet, i'm opening myself up to getting all kinds of malware on my xp partition (heard this from someone at AppleInsider)?

If you mean just looking at the folder and getting files from it, you can simply open the drive icon on your desktop and browse through it like you would any other folder. However if you want to actually run Windows while you are in OS X, you will need virtualization software such as Parallels or VMWare Fusion. They will run Windows in a window as if it were an application in OS X, and you will be able to run your Windows software without rebooting.

No, going online in OS X will not affect your Windows partition at all. You will only be vulnerable to viruses, etc, when you are actually running Windows.

Yes, This is what I mean - just look at/get files from my bootcamp/win xp partition, and do the same with the win xp desktop/my documents (also in win xp) and also transfer files/folders that I d/l from internet onto the bootcamp partition while running leopard (is this possible)?

I do not wish to be running windows xp while running leopard - i'm content with rebooting. It's just the matter of file/folder transfer between Leopard and windows xp.
