Hey guys,
I don't really know if this is the right place for this post but I need help with my webcam. What exactly does it mean when the green light next to the webcam is on but I'm not on a app that uses the cam? I've read that it means the webcam is on and that people can view you over the internet. Is this true?
Please help because it's kinda freaking me out.
thanks!

Might help if you tell us what you are doing when it turns on.
When you restart - when does it turn on?
What apps are running?

What apps are running at startup? Look in Activity Monitor

hmm, sorry. what's the activity monitor? Basically, sometimes when I turn my mac on I leave it to load up and don't do anything to it but the green light still comes on. I'm just a bit paranoid, is it possible for other people to be watching me through the webcam because the green light is on? Thanks.

Highly doubt it..Probably just have an app open that is using the camera somewhere..hopefully..

Just search for it in spotlight (Cmd+Space)..
