Two Finger Right Click!!

So I am having an issue. I have had my mac book pro for a year but I am still learning about Macs and all the tips and tricks. So I had a problem and I erased my HD and reinstalled everything. Everything run smoothly...EXCEPT now I cant right click using the two finger tap. In system prefs under trackpad, it only allows me to " place two fingers on trackpad and click button". I used to be able to just use two fingers what happened? Also if anyone is interested in helping I can provide screen shots and such. Thank you so much

Did you reinstall from the DVD that came with your MacBook? Is tap to click enabled?

Yes. They are original Mac DVDs. My menu looks different than every else's. Mine says "For secondary clicks, place two fingers on the track pad then click the button". I used to just be able to place one finger on the track pad and when the second finger touched the track pad once it would act as a right click.

I don't see anything like that on my Mac. Under Trackpad in Sys Pref, I have "Tap trackpad using two fingers for secondary click" under "Trackpad Gestures". Do you not have this option?

Hey there, I was having the same issue but figured out how to change it back. In the "Trackpad" preference pane, simply check mark the "Clicking" box. That will then change the option back to two finger click.
