If a bunch of window viruses were on my ibook. And this ibook was plugged into a pc network, is it capable for the viruses to find there ways onto other pcs from my mac? Or since they are windows viruses they just lay dormant. Can anyone reccomend a one time use free virus scanner? Thanks.

they wont affect your mac, but yes, you'll spread them to the pc's, thats the only reason for an antivirus app on your mac, is if your networked to pc's. dont use norton anti virus under any circumstances, if necessary, try intego virus barrier.

How would the viruses spread to PC's from the mac? The viruses themselves can't execute on the mac, but they need to execute in order to self-propagate.... maybe he means he just has a bunch of trojans and whatnot that other people sent him in his email.

that too, but if there are virus on the mac, and you transfer a file to a pc that has a virus,
thats how it spreads.
