Should I use Time Machine or Migration Assistant?

I have an old iMac G5 (PPC based) that I am going to replace with a new Intel based model.

I'd like to clone (if that's the right word) my old computer onto the new one. I have several different accounts (wife and kids), lots of music, photo's, network settings, app's I've downloaded etc.

I've been using Time Machine to back up the old iMac for a while now.

So my question is: is it better to use Time Machine or Migration Assistant when I get the new iMac?

I'll point aout again that I'm moving from a PPC to an Intel machine.

(I know the PPC app's that I've downloaded will have to be replaced by me if they are not universal binaries - I'm assuming that Apple app's will be automatically taken care of).

Thanks in advance.

I would use Migration Assistant. I found some of the legacy programs actually ran but could not be installed as I learned how to transition. It is interesting you have two good choices.
