hey crimson, would you recommend upgrading to 8gb or ram at all. Would there be any real benefits for a college student, or would it only really help with intensive programs? Thanks!

Burton, after a certain point it would only really help for intensive applications. Depending on your graphics card, it would help to take some pressure off it. However, you may bottleneck it.

4GB is more than enough for what a college student is going to be doing. You only need 8GB if you are doing 3D renderings/music encoding.

Plus I rather spend 800 dollars on something worthwhile like vacation money.
