iChat volume very low

Hi,

I just got a new MacBook pro, and i'm having a problem where when I'm video chatting with people, their voice is extremely quiet, even with the mac's volume all the way up and the voice volume in ichat set all the way up. Volume in all other applications is perfectly normal. Does anyone else have this problem or know of a way of fixing it?

These other people may have their outgoing volume set too low. Is this a constant problem with everyone, or just certain people? Do they all use OS X also, or Windows?

Try some headphones and see if those make a difference. You can easily force the audio output to your headphones using a free tool called SoundSource. It sits in the menu bar when running.
