Yup.

My MacBook Pro now no longer recognizes the trackpad directly built into it. It's no longer in System Preferences and I can't even get the button to work either. I'm lucky that I normally use it as a desktop anyway and have a mouse, but this is still pretty lame.

Here's the screenshots of my System Preferences showing you that I'm not just being stupid.

I went into mouse and keyboard hoping that I might just be forgetting something, but I'm not apparently.

So, anyone got an answer for this one?

Is the pref pane still in your /System/Library/PreferencePanes folder? If so, what are the permissions on the pref pane?

I haven't really messed with the OS X's internals yet, I will come back and tell you what they are.

Trackpad.prefPane is still there, but how I do check the permissions?

EDIT: I try opening it, but it says that it's not available to me at this moment. D:

Not sure what the problem could be actually ...

Try to start Disk Utility and run the permissions check.

You can also try running Onyx: Titanium Software Maybe it will work in some magical way if you run through its maintenance options ...

Else I am not sure what to do actually :/

Right click > Get Info > Sharing & Permissions. At the bottom, mine are listed as: system (R/W), wheel (RO) and everyone (RO). Those permissions works for me. It is possible that the permissions for everyone were changed to "No Access" which might be causing problems (though I'm not sure). Nonetheless, try changing the permissions to what I have listed if they are different. Or, better yet, repair the permissions on the disk to fix all inappropriate permissions.
