Folder Sharing

13 inch Macbook Pro Retina, 2.7ghz, 128gb SSD
i have a macbook and i'm connected to my mac mini's shared folders on my network however it allows me to read and write to Macintosh HD on my mac mini from my macbook

however i have not set up my mac mini to share macintosh HD…

in system preferences in the sharing sections under file sharing, macintosh HD is not on the list either

so why is the mac mini sharing the whole HD and how do i stop it from doing so…

thanks for your help in advance…

It looks like the default method of file sharing is FTP, which is not set-up to show only shared folders.

There is an options button in the preferences pane where you can change the sharing protocol to AFP (Apple file sharing) or SMB (which can share to Mac, Linux and Windows)

Try SMB or AFP
